Bald Cypress (Taxodium distichum)
A deciduous conifer that drops its needles in fall; has interesting “knees,” which are a part of the tree’s root system popping out of the ground around its base. Large and stately native trees with feathery needles and great form.

Commonly found in marshy or swamp areas. It loves moisture but can grow just as well in medium-dry soil conditions.
